For me, good treatment isn't about following the same routine for everyone. It starts with understanding what is happening for you, how your body is moving and what you would like to get back to doing.
I take a gentle, individual approach to each appointment, with time to listen, assess and adapt treatment to your needs.
Your experience matters. I take time to understand what has brought you in, what you're noticing in your body and what you would like help with before deciding how to approach your treatment.
No two people arrive with exactly the same needs. Your Bowen Therapy treatment is adapted to you, taking into account how your body is moving, your comfort and what we find during your appointment.
Treatment is only part of the picture. Where appropriate, I'll also suggest practical things you can do between appointments to support your movement, comfort and progress.

My interest in hands-on therapy originally led me to study massage, completing a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice. My own experience with Bowen Therapy had actually started years earlier. In my twenties, I had a series of Bowen treatments for migraines. For me, those treatments made a significant difference, and the migraines I'd been experiencing settled. That experience stayed with me and sparked my interest in Bowen Therapy.
Later, I contracted Ross River virus and the joint pain meant I couldn't physically manage massage for a time. Not to be deterred, I decided it was the right opportunity to study Bowen Therapy.
While I was training, I began practising Bowen with some of my existing massage clients. I was so encouraged by the results we were seeing that, even when my strength returned, I never went back to massage. Bowen Therapy had become the work I wanted to do!
I hold a Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy, Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy and Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice, and have been working as a Bowen Therapist for 10 years.
My further training includes Mind Body Bowen, with a focus on trauma and the nervous system, and John Wilks' Pregnancy and Babies course. I continue to learn and develop my skills as a practitioner.
I am a current member of the Bowen Association of Australia, fully insured, and hold current First Aid certification and a Blue Card.
Away from the clinic, I've been married to my husband for 23 years and we have two young adult children. Family is very important to me, and I love being outdoors, spending time in my garden, reading, catching up with friends over dinner and simply being with my family.
We live a fairly simple, natural, semi-off-grid lifestyle and try to make thoughtful choices about the food we eat, the products we use and the environment we live in.
I'm naturally curious and enjoy learning about the body, movement and the many things that can influence how we feel. That curiosity is a big part of what continues to drive me as a Bowen Therapist.
